Before the storm

  • Know your evacuation zone and route.
  • Fill prescriptions and gather important documents.
  • Charge phones, power banks, and any medical equipment.
  • Fill your car with gas and get cash.
  • Trim trees, secure outdoor furniture, and clear gutters.

Supplies (3+ days)

  • 1 gallon of water per person per day.
  • Non-perishable food and a manual can opener.
  • Flashlights, batteries, and a battery-powered radio.
  • First-aid kit and 7-day supply of medications.
  • Baby, pet, and elderly supplies as needed.

During the storm

  • Stay indoors, away from windows.
  • If told to evacuate — evacuate. Do not wait.
  • Never drive through flooded roads. Turn around, don't drown.
  • Keep phones charged for emergency alerts only.

After the storm

  • Wait for the all-clear before going out.
  • Avoid downed power lines and standing water.
  • Check on neighbors, especially elderly ones.
  • Document damage with photos before cleaning up.
