Hurricane Polo is currently located about 233 miles west-southwest of Acapulco, Mexico. It has maximum winds of 81 miles per hour and is moving east at 5 miles per hour. This eastward movement means the hurricane is generally heading parallel to or away from the coast for now.
Even though the main hurricane is offshore, a Tropical Storm Watch has been issued for the coast from Tecpan de Galeana to Punta San Telmo. This means that tropical storm conditions (winds from 39 to 73 mph) are possible in these areas within the next 48 hours. Residents in these locations should stay informed and prepare for potential impacts.
